A fatal crash occurred Monday evening at the intersection of State Road 68 and County Road 250 East near Haubstadt. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 7:48 p.m. on August 4. According to investigators, a Buick Lacrosse failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a Freightliner semi-truck. Despite life-saving efforts, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was taken to a hospital for a routine blood draw as part of the investigation. The Gibson County Coroner is handling the death investigation, and an autopsy is planned. The crash remains under investigation by the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.
