Residents and landowners in Daviess, Martin, and Orange Counties can receive free native shrubs by removing invasive plants like Burning Bush, Barberry, and Honeysuckle from their landscaping. The local Soil & Water Conservation Districts are offering up to three native plants per household through the “Trade-Up” program, supported by Duke Energy and Clean Water Indiana. Participants must sign up and remove invasives before plant pickup in early October. Shrub options include Ninebark, Black Chokeberry, and Coralberry.
