Ryne Sandberg, a longtime Chicago Cubs star and Hall of Famer, passed away on Monday at the age of 65. His death was attributed to complications from cancer, a disease he battled twice in 2024. Sandberg had revealed in January 2024 that he was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer, which he initially overcame, declaring himself cancer-free about eight months later. Ryne Sandberg played nearly his entire MLB career with the Cubs, joining them in 1982 after 13 games with the Phillies. He spent 15 seasons with the Cubs before retiring in 1997. He won NL MVP in 1984 while leading the league in triples and runs, he made 10 consecutive All-Star appearances.

From Colts training camp on Day 5, it was an overcast day so a relief from the baking sun for the first day of full pads. Zaire Franklin is getting closer to getting back on the field, possibly returning later this week. Quarterbacks Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones had arguably their best day since camp began last week in the battle for the starting job.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
There has been a lot of speculation about the health status of Colorado football Coach Deion Sanders. Yesterday Coach Prime revealed that earlier in the year he was diagnosed with bladder cancer and has since had his bladder removed to get rid of the malignant tumor. Sanders also said that not continuing to coach never crossed his mind and he would be on the Colorado sidelines this year in his 3rd season with the Buffalos.
