A two-ton stone turtle was unveiled Thursday at Minooteeni Park in Vincennes, celebrating Native American heritage and symbolism. Commissioned by Fernando Lozano and the Wabash Valley Progressives, the sculpture was designed and crafted by Sugarland Monuments over the past year. The granite turtle honors indigenous traditions, reflecting themes of wisdom, protection, and the earth, core elements of many Native American stories.
