The Washington Fire Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time firefighter position, offering a starting annual salary of $56,700.80. Applications are available online at www.washingtonin.us or in person at the Mayor’s Office, 200 Harned Avenue, weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The deadline to apply is August 29, 2025. Candidates must be under 40 years old and will be required to take an aptitude exam on September 13, followed by agility testing and interviews on September 27. While certifications such as CPAT, First Responder, or Firefighter I & II are not required, they are recommended. A valid driver’s license is required. Lateral transfers are welcome.
