
Georgetta Myers, 81, of Vincennes, Indiana went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Vincennes, Indiana on December 14, 1943, to the late Joseph Gosciniak and Helen Scholfield. Georgetta proudly worked as an underground coal miner and helped paved the way for other women in the coal industry. She married Jim Myers. Georgetta was a woman of faith and loved her Lord. She enjoyed attending several churches over the years. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, crafting, decorating cakes, listening to music, and spending time with her friends. She will be deeply missed.
Georgetta was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Gosciniak and Helen Scholfield; husband Jim Myers; siblings Nancy Carol Gosciniak, Sineta Gosciniak, Joseph (Carol) Gosciniak; son-in-law Bruce Stephens.
She is survived by her children Curtis Myers, Teresa Stephens, Michelle (Doug) Howard, Chris Myers, Aaron (Alyssa) Myers, Corry (Barbara) Myers; 26 grandchildren; sister Sharon (Jim) Brenton; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Georgetta. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Philip Neri’s Church Hall in Bicknell, Indiana on July 19, 2025, at noon.
