In a thrilling match that spanned three hours and four minutes, Jannik Sinner claimed his inaugural Wimbledon championship. He defeated Carlos Alcaraz in four sets, with scores of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, on Sunday afternoon.
Iga Świątek is roughly one year removed from being the No. 1 women’s player in the world. She’s now a Wimbledon champion. The No. 8 seed looked every bit like a top-ranked player in a dominant victory over No. 13 Amanda Anisimova in straight sets, and just over an hour 6-0, 6-0 on Saturday. Prior to this year only one other time  has a women’s grand-slam singles final ended in one player winning 18 straight games.
That was as in the French Open final of 1988, when the great Steffi Graf beat Natasha Zvereva.
PGA
Chris Gotterup held on late Sunday to top Rory McIlroy and the rest of the field and win the Genesis Scottish Open. That marked his second career PGA Tour win and earned the 25-year-old one of the final spots into this week’s Open Championship.
LPGA
At the Amundi Evian Championship  Grace Kim delivered one stunning shot after another Sunday in the Evian Championship, starting with an eagle to force a playoff and another eagle to beat Jeeno Thitikul on the second extra hole to make her first LPGA win a major title.
WNBA
Sunday marked the first time Caitlyn Clark, a second-time All-Star with the Fever, and Paige Bueckers, a first-time All-Star with the Dallas Wings, have faced off professionally. The Fever secured a decisive victory, defeating the rebuilding Wings 102-83. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 20 points.

Shane van Gisbergen claimed his third Cup Series win of the 2025 season on Sunday at Sonoma, tying him with three other drivers for the most wins this year. Starting from pole position, the former Australian Supercars champion put on a dominant performance, only losing the lead during pit stop cycles.
INDYCAR
Spain’s Alex Palou held off Scott Dixon over the final laps to capture Sunday’s IndyCar Farm to Finish 275, stretching his season points lead with his seventh win of the year.

The 6th annual Silo Showdown 2 man golf tournament is slated for August 23rd with shotgun start at 8:00am at Country Oaks.
