PGA ROCKET CLASSIC – Detroit, MI
Aldrich Potgieter defeated Max Greyserman and Chris Kirk in extra holes Sunday at Detroit Golf Club for his first win on the PGA Tour. It took more than an hour of playoff golf to decide the winner, taking five extra holes until Potgieter, in his 20th start on Tour, poured in a 17-foot, 10-inch putt on the par-3 15th. You may remember Potgeiter was amongst those getting his tour card last year following the Korn Ferry Tour Championship at the Pete Dye course in French Lick.

The Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx are facing off Tuesday in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship. And now, fittingly, each team’s brightest star is captaining this year’s All-Star Game.
Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Lynx forward Napheesa Collier earned that distinction for the first time in their WNBA careers Sunday. They did so by reeling in the most fan votes.

As expected, LeBron James is opting into his $52.6 million player option with the Lakers. Next season will be James’ eighth in Los Angeles, the longest single run he’s had with one team, and 23rd consecutive season as an active player, an NBA record.
James Harden is returning to the Clippers next season, but with a new two-year, $81.5 million contract. And another time that he signs and contract and I shake my head in disbelief.
A familiar playoff foe for the Pacers, Bobby Portis is signing a new three-year, $44 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Thunder and guard Ajay Mitchell have agreed to a three-year contract for nearly $9 million. And the Thunder agree to a 3-year $24 million extension with Jaylin Wiliams.
