daviess-county-sheriffs-department

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents to a scam involving fraudulent calls from someone posing as “Officer Stevens.” Victims, many listed on the county’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry, are being told they must pay $2,400 or report to jail for an alleged warrant. Officials stress that the Sheriff’s Office does not call to request money or notify individuals of warrants by phone. Residents are urged not to provide any personal information if contacted.
