Big news from the Washington Lady Hatchets basketball program. Incoming senior power forward Katie Reed commits to Murray State University to continue her career after high school. Katie as been a mainstay in Coach Gretchen Miles lineup since her freshman year compiling a 12 points per game scoring average along with 6.5 rebounds and 1 assist. Katie will join the Murray State program that is guided by Rechelle Turner, who just signed an extension through the 2029 season and is the winningest coach in program history. The Racers are coming off their first title in the Missouri Valley Conference.

It’s official. Travis Hunter is a Jacksonville Jaguar. The two-way star has signed his rookie contract. The Jaguars announced the deal twice on Sunday — with one post saying they had signed DB Travis Hunter and another saying they had signed WR Travis Hunter.
Only certain details of the contract were negotiable. Per the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, rookie contract values are predetermined based on draft slot. As the No. 2 pick in April’s draft, Hunter is due $46.65 million that is fully guaranteed over four years. The Jaguars will have a fifth-year option.
Jim Irsay, late Colts Owner and CEO, will be inducted into the Colts Ring of Honor on Sept. 7, 2025, during the season opener against the Miami Dolphins at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Hall of Fame horse racing trainer D. Wayne Lukas has been hospitalized and will not return to training, Churchill Downs announced Sunday after speaking with members of his family.Lukas’ family said the 89-year-old has battled a severe infection that has worsened and that he has declined an aggressive treatment plan to instead return home. His horses have been transferred to assistant trainer Sebastian “Bas” Nicholl.
