
Gerald Everett “Jerry” Lynch, 92, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Gentry Park Assisted Living in Bloomington, Indiana, surrounded by his family.
Born on November 22, 1932, in Decatur, Illinois, he was the beloved son of Harry and Mildred (Burcham) Lynch. Jerry married Phyllis Jean Sinnard in 1962.
After working several years at Illinois Power and Light, Jerry enrolled at the Indiana Institute of Technology where he earned a BS in Civil Engineering. He had his career at HNTB, Midwestern Engineers, Inc, and started Resource Conservation Services. A member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, he was a member and president of the West Boggs Park Board, a president of the AWWA, member of the IWEA.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, golf, boating, and rooting for the Colts, Bears, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings: Gene (Emma) and Karen Lynch; and one grandson, Jeff Francis. Jerry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Phyllis; his children, Tad (Dana) Lynch and Liz (Gary) Francis; Sister, Linda (Paul) Hartig; Grandchildren: Scott (Katie) Francis and Delaney Lynch; Great-grandchildren: Jake and Olivia.
A celebration of life will take place on June 27, 2025 from 3:00 PM until-5:00 PM at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana.
