Eugenia Florence “Jeanne” Parsons, 99, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Poplar Care Nursing Center in Loogootee, Indiana.
Born on March 1, 1926, in Loogootee, Indiana, she was the beloved daughter of Curtis and Beatrice (McCann) Kidwell. Jeanne married Eugene Parsons on August 30, 1946. Jeanne worked as an explosive handler until retiring from NSWC Crane. Jeanne was of Catholic faith and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her parents; two sons: Kenneth & Gary Parsons; Siblings: Dorothy Smith, Laverne Risacher, Ralph Kidwell, and Robert Kidwell; One grandson, Christopher Parsons, and one great-grandchild, Nehemiah Gene Ayers.
Jeanne is lovingly remembered by her children: Keith (Janet) Parsons, Larry (Marilou) Parsons, Robert (Alice) Parsons, Ronnie (Denise) Parsons, Connie (Charlie) Padgett; Daughters-in-law: Jodi (Rory) Lee and Rose (Mark) Lichlyter; Grandchildren: Michelle (Bill) Carrico, Pete (Kim) Parsons, Patty (Michael) Allen, Matthew (Kristen) Parsons, Michael (Jamie) Parsons, Chad (fiancée Hanna) Parsons, Nathon Parsons, Christina (Partner, Jeremy Brewer) Parsons, Cindy (Ryan) Larsons, Bryan (Ashlee) Parsons, Jeanne (Nate) Hummel, Josh (Koryn) Parsons, Jessie (Ben) Borgmann, Craig (Amanda) Padgett, Cory (Kristen) Padgett, Amanda (Travis) Ayers; and 31 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Rose Kidwell; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Loogootee, Indiana. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to service at the Church. Burial to follow in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home, Loogootee, Indiana, with a rosary service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
