The Knox County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died in Tuesday morning’s house fire in Vincennes as Gerald Lewis Henigsmith, who would have turned 87 on June 19. The fire occurred around 5:30 a.m. at 504 North 4th Street. Henigsmith was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 6 a.m. The cause of death remains under investigation pending autopsy results. Five others were injured in the fire. Four were treated and released from Good Samaritan Hospital, while one person remains hospitalized with severe burns at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
