Just in time for SummerFest, the city of Loogootee will officially open its new downtown pavilion and green space with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. today. The Loogootee Pavilion, built on a former gravel lot, will serve as a hub for live music, events, and community gatherings. Mayor Brian Ader praised the collaborative effort that brought the project to life, with funding from the Martin County Community Foundation and German American Bank. Designed by Midwestern Engineers, the space includes a walkway, event area, and green space for pedestrian use. The pavilion will host several events during SummerFest, June 19–21, and is part of the city’s broader push to boost quality of life through more community activities.
