Shake Broadcasting Sports has confirmed that Steve Reed has announced his resignation as the Washington baseball coach.  Reed has been the head of the Hatchet baseball program since 2009.  Congratulations to Coach Reed on an outstanding career.  The WHS athletic department will begin a search for his replacement right away.

The win capped an unbelievable post-season run for the Spartans, who out-scored their post-season opponents 31-0. They became the first team since Indianapolis Scecina in 2007 to go through the entire post-season without allowing a run.

Competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut announced Monday that he is returning to the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest after a one-year hiatus from the annual Fourth of July event.  Chestnut, the 16-time champion, missed last year’s event because of a dispute with Major League Eating over his sponsorship deal with a company that makes plant-based hot dogs.
