The Barr-Reeve Vikings on Saturday lost a close but extremely well played game to Evansville Mater Dei 2-1 in 8 innings. Senior Seth Wagler ended his Viking career with a stellar outing, pitching all 8 innings scattering 9 hits, giving up 2 earned runs and walking none in a 102 pitch effort. Offensively Korbin Boyd led the way for the Vikings collecting two hits and a walk. Barr Reeve ends their season at 26 wins and 6 losses.
The IHSAA has released the semi-state information for Saturday’s baseball action, the south region looks like this
In 3A at Jasper its Guerin Catholic vs New Palestine at 11 and Greensburg vs Jasper at 2 with a 7pm championship game.
In 2A at the University of Evansville it’s Providence vs University in game 1 and Evansville Mater Dei vs Shenandoah in game 2
In 1A at Mitchell its Knightstown vs Indianapolis Lutheran and Shakamak vs NE Dubois.

On the PGA Tour at the Canadian Open, Ryan Fox beats Sam Burns in 4 playoff holes to take home that title.
Game 2 of the NBA Finals saw the Pacers trail at halftime by 18 points and never recovered. The Thunder win 123 to 107. Tyrese Haliburton leads the way with 17 points and 6 assists and Pascal Siakim led with 7 rebounds. The series is now tied at 1 game apiece with games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday in Indianapolis.
