Carrie LaRue Armstrong Williams

Carrie LaRue Armstrong Williams, 103 years of age, died May 27, 2025 at 8:04 PM.

She was born in Reeve Township, Daviess County, on November 24, 1921 the daughter of Raymond and Carrie Brown Armstrong, both deceased.

She married Roy H Williams, Sr. on November 19, 1941 and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2005.

She was a graduate of Alfordsville High School and Lockyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana. She initially worked in Evansville and later was employed by both the Hincher Hanger Company Washington and Parks Coal Company north of Alfordsville. In 1965 she began employment with the newly incorporated Barr-Reeve School Corporation as the secretary and treasurer where she worked until her retirement.

LaRue was a lifetime member of the Christian Church of Alfordsville, having been baptized into the Body of Christ in White River at Portersville as an early teen-ager. During those years she served as Sunday School teacher, choir director and organist/pianist.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Jennifer and Charles Rodarmel, Bright, Indiana; Roy H. Williams Jr and Julie, Jacksonville, Florida; and William C. Corbin and Jean, Alfordsville, Indiana.

Grandchildren and spouses are; Chad and Kim Rodarmel, Cincinnati, Ohio; Cassie and David Demerle, West Chester, Ohio; Ming and Alan Richardson, Atlanta, GA; Major Andrew K. Williams USMC and Leah, Stafford, VA; Cory and Shannon Corbin, Alfordsville, Indiana; and Melissa Fuller, Alfordsville, Indiana. There are 15 great-grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren.

Siblings and spouses are Raymond C. Armstrong and Naomi (both deceased); Ralph Armstrong and Pauline (both deceased); Eleanor Arvin (deceased); and Eldena Thale and Bernie (both deceased).

Funeral services will be at the Christian Church at Alfordsville, Indiana at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025.  Burial will immediately follow in the Alfordsville Community Cemetery, just north of Alfordsville.

Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Blake Funeral home in Loogootee, Indiana on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Condolences may take the form of contributions to the Christian Church at Alfordsville and/or to the Jeremiah Park, owned and operated by the church.
