Due to budget and staffing limitations, Greene County will not provide curbside tornado debris pickup following last week’s storm damage. Instead, residents are asked to bring debris to the Greene County Recycling Center at 4316 West Base Road in Switz City. The site is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Accepted materials include trees, limbs, metal, and plant debris—but not tires. The recent tornado impacted multiple communities, including Linton, Newberry, and Worthington. In Linton alone, 85 homes were damaged and 20 destroyed. One fatality was reported. The National Guard Armory is now operating as a help center for those affected.
