A Sullivan County Superior Court jury has found 39-year-old William Grimes guilty of the 2012 murder of 85-year-old Lowell Badger, a retired farmer from rural Sullivan County. Grimes was also convicted of Burglary and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary. The jury determined that his sentence will be enhanced due to the use of a firearm during the murder. Badger was shot and killed in his home in December 2012. Grimes now faces up to 70 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for June 13. Two alleged accomplices are currently in custody and awaiting trial. The Indiana State Police credited the conviction to a lengthy and thorough investigation led by ISP detectives and a retired FBI Special Agent.
