Shake Broadcasting Sports broke the story on Tuesday afternoon that Heath Howington is the new boys head basketball coach of the Barr-Reeve Vikings and will be made official today by the Barr-Reeve school board. Howington went 71-44 in the last 5 seasons for the Evansville Memorial Tigers and winning last year’s sectional after spending his first 8 years at North Posey where he was second in all time wins. A 2002 Evansville Reitz grad, Howington graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2007 with a double degree in Business Education and Marketing. While an assistant at Bloomington South the Panthers captured two state titles under head coach J.R. Holmes, and compiled an overall record of 75-3.
