Kristen Blair, the newly appointed Activities Director at West Boggs Park, is already making waves with a busy schedule of events. Since taking the role in mid-March, her first major event, Battle of the Bands, marked the inaugural concert at the park’s newly completed amphitheater. Despite rainy weather, the event went off smoothly. Looking ahead, Blair is organizing a ticketed bluegrass concert on June 27 featuring Mama Said String Band and Hammer and the Hatchet. Tickets are $22, with kids 12 and under admitted free. Other upcoming events include the Kids Fishing Derby on June 7. Memorial Day festivities will also include a DJ, food vendors, and a tribute to veterans. Blair is also enhancing daily park experiences, with a newly renovated mini golf course, the launch of free disc golf courses, and the sale of local ice cream at the camp store. The store, now doubling as an activity center, offers everything from camping essentials to free arts and crafts for kids and upcoming adult workshops.
