Indiana State Police have arrested a Borden man in connection with the 2022 shooting death of Brittney Boman in Henryville. Derek James Pixley, 33, was taken into custody without incident on the evening of May 12, in Scott County. The arrest follows a renewed investigation by the Indiana State Police Cold Case Unit. The case dates back to October 2, 2022, when Boman was found with gunshot wounds on Brownstown Road. She was hospitalized at the University of Louisville until her death on December 30, 2022. In December 2024, the investigation was turned over to the ISP Cold Case Unit. Detective Matt Busick reopened the case, conducting new interviews and gathering additional evidence. After presenting findings to the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office, a warrant for murder was issued for Pixley on May 8, 2025. Pixley is currently being held at the Clark County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department and Prosecutor’s Office.
