Baumert served as Washington’s mayor from 1987 to 2003 and was well respected by both Republicans and Democrats as the city’s leader. Tom was known for listening to people and solving problems. Prior to his election as mayor, he served as a Washington police detective and also was a veteran serving our country in the Air Force.
