William Lee “Billy” Hopkins I, of Shoals, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Born February 28, 1950 in Shoals, he was the son of Myron E. “Mike” and Patsy (Richardson) Hopkins.
Billy married Beverly S. Andrews on May 11, 1979 and she survives.
He attended Shoals High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.
Billy worked as a sawyer at C&L Lumber in Huntingburg for many years before retiring in 2007.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, talking on the CB radio, tinkering on anything with a motor, and reading and watching westerns.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Susie; children, Brenda (Mike) Wininger, Bobby Graham, Lois Singer, Pam Robbins, Shane Andrews, Tom (Marva) Andrews Jr., Sandy (Keith) Carrico, Gene Hopkins, Starla (Jerry) Bussinger, and William Lee (Ramona) Hopkins II; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Connie (Roger) Taylor and Debbie Labarge; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Norman.
Cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care in Shoals.
