AES Indiana Advances Clean Energy with Solar Project Approval, Battery Park Completion

aes-2

AES Indiana has announced two major steps forward in its clean energy efforts. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission has approved the company’s acquisition and construction of the Crossvine solar-plus-battery storage project in Dubois County. At the same time, AES completed the Pike County Battery Energy Storage System, which is now fully operational. The Crossvine project, acquired from Lightsource bp, will deliver 85 megawatts of solar power and an equal amount of battery storage capacity by mid-2027—enough to power around 14,500 homes. The facility will span roughly 1,600 leased acres west of Huntingburg Regional Airport, with 650 acres used for solar panels.
