Washington High School has a new varsity boys basketball coach to replace Gene Miiller, who retired following the end of the season. Officials announced Bo Burkhart as the new head coach for the boys basketball team. Burkhart brings years of coaching experience and a track record of success to the program, including his most recent role as associate head coach at Evansville Bosse High School, where he helped lead the team to the 2024 sectional and regional championships. He has coached at the collegiate level, serving as an assistant at Southwestern Illinois College and as a graduate assistant at Xavier University. The Washington Community Schools Board is set to formally approve his hiring at a special meeting on Tuesday, April 22, at 8 p.m. Washington High School looks forward to Burkhart’s leadership and the positive impact he’ll bring to student-athletes and the community.
While Washington has made its decision on their next varsity boys basketball coach, another school in the area will now be on the search. The search will begin immediately for his replacement.
