Tonight’s game at Nebraska will feature a pair of former NBA coaches with Fred Hoiberg and Indiana’s Mike Woodson. Woodson and Hoiberg both spent significant time in the NBA, but their head coaching careers did not overlap. They are two of the eight former NBA head coaches running Division I programs this season.  Tip off at 8pm tonight.
The New York Mets are a World Series-contender team again now that they signed superstar Juan Soto. The Mets held an introductory press conference for the 26-year-old left fielder, who signed the biggest contract in professional sports history. He put up All-Star numbers last season with the Yankees, hitting 41 home runs and making a World Series appearance. Juan told reporters that he wanted to come to the Mets because he sees that they’re trying to grow a dynasty for the future.
Bill Belichick has officially been introduced as the new head coach at North Carolina. The university held a press conference for the former Super Bowl champ, where he was greeted with a standing ovation and then held up his father’s old U-N-C sweatshirt. It was surreal moment for him since his dad, Steve, was an assistant coach for the Tar Heels in the 1950s. Bill told reporters he always wanted to be a college coach, but the NFL came calling first.
