
A woman in Evansville is facing charges after an incident on Sunday night where she allegedly used a machete to cut a man. The incident occurred behind a gas station on E. Louisiana Street. According to reports, police responded to find a man with a leg injury caused by the machete. The man stated that he was heading to the gas station to buy a drink when 28-year-old Kayti Carter asked him to get her one as well. It’s believed that when the man explained he didn’t have enough money for both drinks, a “play fight” broke out between them. During the altercation, Carter, armed with a machete, and the man, with a stick, engaged. The situation escalated, with the man alleging that Carter began throwing objects and then swung the machete at him seriously, resulting in a leg injury. Emergency services were summoned to the scene to provide medical attention to the injured man. Carter was subsequently arrested and taken to Vanderburgh County Jail. She is now facing charges of battery with a deadly weapon.
