A cyber tip provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has led to the apprehension of a Dubois County man on charges of possessing and disseminating child pornography.

Detectives from the Indiana State Police – Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force in Jasper initiated an investigation in March 2023 following a cyber tip report received from the NCMEC. The report flagged a specific account that was suspected of transmitting child pornography images or videos.

Based on the information gathered during their investigation, the detectives sought a search warrant from the Dubois County Circuit Court. Consequently, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Jasper Police executed the search warrant at a residence in Jasper, Indiana.

During the search, investigators discovered incriminating evidence, leading to the arrest of Bradley Atkins, a resident of Jasper. Atkins was taken into custody without incident and subsequently transported to the Dubois County jail.

Atkins now faces multiple charges, including possession of child pornography involving children under the age of 12. Each count carries a Level 5 felony classification, emphasizing the severity of the offenses.

The investigation remains ongoing, with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force spearheading the case. The Indiana State Police and the Jasper Police Department have provided crucial assistance in this operation.

Law enforcement agencies continue to prioritize the protection of vulnerable children and combat the dissemination of child pornography. The collaborative efforts between the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Indiana State Police, and local authorities serve as a testament to their unwavering commitment to safeguarding children from exploitation and holding offenders accountable.
