The Greater Jasper Consolidated School Board of Trustees is currently accepting applications to fill a vacant position on the board. The opening has arisen due to Tim DeMotte’s decision to step down from his position as a board member in order to assume the role of the board’s attorney. Following the retirement announcement of longtime school board attorney Art Nordhoff, the board has approved the appointment of DeMotte as the new board attorney. DeMotte will officially assume the position on August 1. To complete DeMotte’s term, which concludes on December 31, 2024, the school corporation is actively seeking applicants residing in District 4 of Bainbridge Township. Interested individuals can find the application on the main page of the Greater Jasper Consolidated School Corporation website (www.gjcs.k12.in.us). Applications will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Friday, June 9, either in person at the office or via email to Dr. Tracy Lorey at tlorey@gjcs.k12.in.us. Following the deadline, board members will review the applications and conduct interviews. The appointment of a replacement will be made during the regular board meeting on July 24.
