Indiana is getting another Safe Haven Baby Box.
A Safe Haven Baby Box will be blessed in Scottsburg today at Scott County EMS. The blessing is scheduled for 11 am EST. This baby box will be the 85th baby box in Indiana and the 112th in the nation.
Seven babies have been safely dropped off at baby boxes in Indiana so far this year. Another healthy baby was recently found in a Safe Haven Baby Box at a fire station in Schererville. This is the 21st baby surrendered inside a Baby Box in Indiana since 2017.
Struggling mothers who wish to give up their babies anonymously can open a Baby Box door, place their child inside, and leave without penalty.
