Samaritan Center Celebrates 50 Years

The Samaritan Center at Good Samaritan is celebrating 50 years of services this week.
Fifty years ago, the face of mental health care in this community was very different. Patients who needed professional long-term care for mental health had very few places to turn. This led to the creation of Good Samaritan’s Columbian Tower.
The Center grew and diversified through the years and now encompasses eight offices in Knox, Daviess, Martin, and Pike counties. The inpatient unit remains in Good Samaritan’s Columbian Tower and was renamed LaSalle Behavioral Health. S
amaritan Center has added several other offices and services over the years.
On Monday, the Knox County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the Samaritan Center’s 50th Anniversary.
The ribbon cutting was held at Samaritan Center’s new administrative office on Sixth Street.
