
In Monday’s meeting The Washington City Council heard the introduction of an ordinance that will annex a 56.6 acre tract into the City.
The land is the location of the proposed Indiana Municipal Power Agency’s newest solar generating field.
As the sole owner the IMPA has requested the annexation.
The Council also introduced an ordinance rezoning 10.5 acre plot on east Business 50 to Planned Unit Development to allow for the construction of a housing development.
In other business, the Council members enacted an ordinance amending the City’s capital asset policy.
And on suspension of the rules, the Council passed an ordinance changing pay and responsibilities of some positions in the waste water and sanitation departments
The ordinance addresses changes mandated by the state in certain positions’ responsibilities and certification.
At the end of the meeting Mayor Rhoads announced the opening of the Washington City Pool on Saturday May the 28th.
