Area Police and Arrests Report

Around 7:50 a.m. Friday morning the Washington Police Department was called to the scene of a personal injury accident.  A vehicle was traveling westbound on West Walnut Street when a southbound vehicle on NW Third Street failed to yield right of way causing the accident.  Police reports say the driver of the southbound vehicle was not a licensed driver.  No other details have been released at this time

About 12:20 this morning, Washington Police Officers observed a vehicle traveling at 52 miles per hour on East Walnut Street, passing other vehicles, and failing to stop at a stop sign.  Police stopped the vehicle at Walnut and East Sixth Street.   Police report the driver tested with a BAC of .165.  The Daviess County Security Center says that 21 year old Urial Mora-Cruz was booked into the Security Center early this morning on charges of reckless driving, driving while suspended, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The Daviess County Security Center also reports that on Friday, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department arrested 36 year old Dustin Collins of Odon on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a refusal and endangerment.

In other police action, the Security Center reports that Washington Police Officers arrested 28 year old Mason Bynum of Washington for public intoxication and carrying a handgun without a permit.
