He’s been terminated after 50 years.

KCARC Director Mike Carney has been removed from his position after a unanimous decision from the KCARC board on Monday.

Officials are not commenting on why Carney was terminated.

They have only said he was fired over a “personnel matter”.

Carney has been with the organization since its inception in 1972 and even recently had a street named after him in Knox County for his work over the years.

The search for a new director is expected to get underway soon.
