22-year-old Kenneth Rippey of Washington was arrested Tuesday afternoon for Domestic Battery.
Just before 2:00 pm, the Washington Police Department received a call reporting a physical domestic taking place in the Walmart parking lot. Officers arrived and found a blue car stopped in the aisle with a female driver and male passenger outside the vehicle. Officers say they recognized and identified the subjects from another recent domestic incident.
They say the female had several small scratches on her face and neck as well as redness. She also had bruising and swelling from the previous incident. The female told police they were arguing and that she tried to get out of the car when the male began hitting and pulling on her. She states that she bit the male’s nose while attempting to escape his grasp. T
he male at first denied touching the female, but later admitted to grabbing her sweatshirt and scratching her. Rippey was arrested and booked into the Daviess County Jail. No bond was set. He faces one count of Domestic Battery.
The current jail population is at 149.
