Eastern Greene held off White River Valley in a very close game 46-44.
The Washington Hatchets are back on the hardwood tonight as they host Boonville at the Hatchet House. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm on Memories 107.9fm.

Several girls basketball teams from across southern Indiana will be in Washington this weekend for the Lady Hatxhet Basketball Shoot-Out tournament. This is for grades 4-8 and all the school gyms will be used for the two day event. We welcome our visitors to town for the big tournament this weekend in Washington.
Fifth-ranked Purdue held off a late comeback attempt and beat Northwestern 70-64 at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Zach Edey had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the Boilers. Mason Gillis scored nine of his 11 points in the second half and pulled down seven rebounds. Purdue opened the second half on a 7-0 run to jump out to an 11-point lead. The Boilermakers have won 11 straight over Northwestern, and eight out of nine overall. Purdue held the Wildcats to 35 percent shooting to close out a stretch of eight games in 21 days. With the victory combined with Illinois losing at Rutgers, Purdue moved into a half-game lead in the Big Ten. The Boilermakers are 23-4 with a 12-4 conference record, and host red-hot Rutgers Sunday at Mackey Arena.
Notre Dame escaped with a 99-95 overtime victory over Boston College Wednesday night in South Bend. Prentiss Hubb scored the final six for the Fighting Irish, which stayed tied atop the ACC with Duke. Dane Goodwin led Notre Dame with 23 points, and Blake Wesley added 18. Hubb knocked down a jumper with 10 seconds to give the Irish a three-point lead, and then stole the inbounds pass and proceeded to knock down a pair of free throws. The Fighting Irish made 33-of-39 free throw attempts. Notre Dame is 19-7 overall and 12-3 in conference play. The Irish have won five in a row, while B.C. has lost four straight. Notre Dame is back in action Saturday afternoon at Wake Forest.
The Indiana Pacers entered the NBA’s All-Star break on a high note with a 113-108 victory over the Washington Wizards Wednesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Tyrese Haliburton had 21 points, 14 assists and five rebounds for the Blue and Gold, which snapped a seven-game losing streak.
