The Washington Lady Hatchets got a big senior night win at home getting by South Spencer and claiming their second conference championship in the PAC 64-24. Washington ends the regular season at 20-3.
Washington Catholic varsity girls basketball team beat Bloomington lighthouse Thursday night 64-45 on Senior night. Mya Cline had a double double. 37 points, 12 rebounds, 14-16 from the stripe. Brynna Hunter had 11 points, 9 rebounds. Alyssa Davison (WC’s only senior) and Ella Grissom each had 6 points.
North Knox topped Barr Reeve yesterday 51-26.
In overtime South Knox held off Loogootee 57-56.
Evansville North defeated Vincennes Rivet 50-46.
NE Dubois beat Jasper 40-19.
Linton topped White River Valley 71-42.
Tonight, in boys hoops, Washington travels to Tecumseh. Tip-off is at 8:00 pm on Memories 107.9fm
Barr Reeve entertains Shoals with live coverage at 7:15 pm on the General 95.9 / 101.3fm.

The Hatchet 8th grade boys basketball team (15-2) took down the Forest Park Rangers 56-39 in the 2nd round of the PAC conference tournament. Cordell Turner led the way with 26 point’s followed by Trey James with 14. Cooper Wright and Zavion Lesure each with 7 and Brody Isza 2. The Hatchets will finish out the tournament on Saturday at Tecumseh.
Washington 8th grade Lady Hatchets hosted Forest Park Thursday night with the 2nd game of the PAC tourney. Washington 8th grade lady hatchets (2-0 in tourney play) got off to a 15-3 opening quarter and never looked back to roll at home with a full house with a 48-23 win to move on to the semi final game Saturday morning at Gibson Southern starting at 10:00am. If they win that game they will advance to the Championship game which starts at 11:30am. Good luck to the 8th grade girls basketball team. Bring home a conference championship!
The Washington Hatchets 5th grade boys fell to 9 and 5 Thursday night with a loss at Loogootee 40 – 37. Dylan Stowers led all scorers with 19 points. Hunter Newland scored 8 followed by Noah Rhoads with 4. Jax Rodriguez, Drew Clawson and Kaden Franklin each scored 2. The Hatchets next play Vincennes Rivet Saturday morning.
Wrestling Sectionals are set for Saturday is sectionals at Evansville. The Hatchets will send 8 wrestlers. Seeding came out for brackets top 4 finishers at each weight advance to regionals.

Purdue hit 13 3-pointers and beat Iowa 83-73 Thursday night in Iowa City. Junior guard Isaiah Thompson scored a career-high 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting to lead Purdue. Sophomore guard Jaden Ivey returned after missing the last game with a hip injury, and scored 15 points off the bench. The sixth-ranked Boilers withstood a second half comeback by the Hawkeyes to improve to 17-3 and 6-3 in the Big Ten. Purdue shot 64 percent in the first half and made 7-of-12 3-pointers, and led by as many as 18 in the first half. Iowa cut the lead to four at one point, but Purdue used a 7-0 run with five points from Thompson to extend the lead back to double figures. Trevion Williams added 12 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, and Sasha Stefanovic poured in 14. Purdue returns home to face 16th-ranked Ohio State Sunday afternoon at Mackey Arena.
The Indiana Pacers hit the road for back-to-back games starting Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder have lost six in a row and are 14-33, the third-worst record in the NBA. Indiana has dropped three straight, and is coming off an embarrassing defensive performance. The Blue and Gold gave up a franchise-record 158 points in a home loss to Charlotte Wednesday night. Domantas Sabonis might return against his former team. The All-Star forward has missed the past four games with a sprained ankle, but returned to practice Thursday. Coach Rick Carlisle also said that he hopes center Myles Turner will return sooner than later. Turner had another scan of his injured foot, which revealed good news, and Carlisle said Turner will ramp up training soon. The Pacers and Thunder tip off at 8 p.m. Eastern Friday night. After that, Indiana will travel to Dallas, where Carlisle will face his former team Saturday night.
