A miner died in an underground mining accident late Friday night in Knox County.
Sullivan County dispatch says they were alerted of the incident around 11:15 pm and dispatched two ambulances to the scene.
Further investigation revealed the accident happened underground in Oaktown.
Knox County Coroner Karen Donovan responded to the scene and confirmed the fatality.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration was also notified.
No name or other details have been released.
