An Evansville-based bank is going to offer more housing loans and mortgages to African Americans in settling a federal discrimination lawsuit.
Old National Bank was accused of violating the Fair Housing Act by trying to avoid approving mortgages for African Americans in Indianapolis.
Old National denied any wrongdoing, but the settlement calls on it to originate more than $27 million in loans to Black applicants and spend more than $3 million on programs to help Black home seekers get mortgages.
