The Indiana Department of Health announced Sunday that the first case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has been located in Indiana.
The test sample was collected on December 9th, and further tests showed it is the Omicron variant.
In a press release, the department stated that this variant could spread more easily than the Delta variant, but those who have a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot are best protected.
