Barr Reeve Lady Vikings fell to Loogootee last night 45 to 35.

Washington grabbed a big win on the road over a good Forest Park team 59-44. The win makes it 11 in a row for the Lady Hatchets with a home match up against Mt Vernon tomorrow afternoon. 

North Knox over Wood Memorial 54 to 41. 

South Knox beat Princeton 43 to 31. 

Shoals over Boden 52 to 40. 

Jasper lost to NE Dubois 67 to 44. 

Pike Central dropped one to Gibson Southern 68 to 26. 

Boys Basketball tonight: 

Washington will host Evansville Bosse at the Hatchet House.  Tip off at 8pm on Memories 107.9 fm. 

North Daviess will entertain Hammond Central. 

Washington Catholic will travel to South Knox. 

North Knox at MItchell. 

Vincennes Lincoln at home against Princeton. 

Jasper at Boonville. 

Shoals hosts Southridge. 

The 7th grade Hatchets fell to 6-3 on the season with a 39-32 loss to North Knox. Levi Burkemper led the Hatchets with 21 Points. Brody Armes had 5, Jack Brower 4 and Caleb Bouchie 2. The 7th grade boys will be back in action at home on Monday night vs South Knox.  

The 8th grade Hatchet boys improved to 8-0 on the season with a 43-34 win over the Warriors. Cordell Turner led a balanced attack 13 points followed by Brody Isza 12, Xavion Lesure 11, Cooper Wright 5 and Brody Clark 2. The 8th grade boys will travel to South Knox on Monday night.  

The Washington Hatchet 6th Grade A team improved their record to 5-1 Thursday night as they defeated Sullivan at home 30-26.  Jake Johnson and Darian Turner lead the Hatchets with eight a piece.  Kaden Gross 5 points, Zachary Frady 4 points, Jackson Howell 3 points and Carter Browning 2 points.  The 6th Grade Hatchets A team will play Jasper Saturday January 8th at 1000AM. 

The Washington Hatchets 5th grade basketball team improved to 5-2 on the season with a win over Sullivan 42 – 9 Thursday night at Griffith.  Dylan Stowers led all scorers with 13 points followed by Drew Clawson with 11, Hunter Newland with 9, Armani Sandoval with 4, Noah Rhoads 3 and Caden Franklin 2.  The 5th grade boys next game is after the Christmas break on January 4th vs LCIS in Bedford. 

The Indiana Pacers beat the Detroit Pistons 122-113 Thursday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for Indiana, and extended Detroit’s skid to 13 games. Caris LeVert scored a season-high 31 points to lead all scorers. Justin Holiday scored 17, and Myles Turner added 16 points and four blocks for the Blue and Gold, which improved to 13-18. Indiana fell behind 12-2 early, but responded and led by the three at the end of the first quarter. Malcolm Brogdon missed the game with a sore Achilles. Assistant coach Lloyd Pierce once again filled in for Rick Carlisle, who remains out with COVID-19. Pierce said Thursday that he thinks Carlisle will be back for Indiana’s next game. The Pacers are off until Tuesday night when they take on the Miami Heat on the road. 

The rivalry is back on. The Indianapolis Colts host the New England Patriots Saturday night in a crucial AFC showdown. After a 2-4 start, the Patriots have won seven straight to rise to the top of the conference standings. The Colts are 7-6 and have won four out of five. Indianapolis has dropped eight straight to Bill Belichick’s squad, and the two teams have not met since 2018. With a win over New England Saturday night, the Colts would move into the fifth seed in the AFC playoff race with three games to go. Both teams are coming off their bye week, and the Colts are favored by 2.5 points, with kick off Saturday night at 8:15 p.m. Eastern at Lucas Oil Stadium. 

The final edition of the Crossroads Classic takes place Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Third-ranked Purdue faces Butler at noon, followed by Indiana against Notre Dame at 2:30. The Boilermakers are 9-1 and coming off an overtime victory over NC State last weekend. Butler is 7-3 and winners of four straight. The Bulldogs are 3-0 against top-ten teams in the Crossroads Classic, and 4-1 against the Boilermakers. Mike Woodson’s IU squad is 8-2, but the Hoosiers have gone 2-2 in their last four. IU is 7-3 all-time in the Crossroads. Notre Dame enters the weekend 4-4, but the Fighting Irish are coming off a victory over then 10th-ranked Kentucky. Both games will be televised on Fox. The four-team event started in 2011 and will be discontinued after this season.
