Vincennes Police are searching for a shooting suspect.
Police were called to the Red Roof Inn on South Old Decker Road in Vincennes around 7:00 am yesterday morning regarding suspicious persons behind the building.
Upon arrival, a deputy noticed a female and a male who immediately took off running.
When officers caught up to the female, police say a gunshot was heard nearby. It was later discovered that the man was attempting to steal a car and when the driver refused, he fired a single shot into the passenger window. The suspect then fled the scene in a red Chevy Equinox.
38-year-old Lacie Angle of Lawrenceville was arrested for Possession of a Syringe and Resisting Law Enforcement. She is being held in the Knox County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Police say the vehicle was recovered yesterday afternoon, but they are still searching for the male suspect identified as 40-year-old Ray Tate of Hopkinsville Kentucky. Tate is believed to be armed and dangerous.
