An Oakland City woman is facing several charges after an afternoon police chase.
Around 4:45 pm yesterday, Indiana State Police attempted to stop a vehicle on SR 57 near Summerville for traveling 90 mph.
Officers say the driver refused to stop and continued north at a high rate of speed. Approximately one mile south of SR 64, the vehicle left the roadway on the east side, struck a tree, and came to a final rest.
The driver, 21-year-old Johanna Dersche of Oakland City, was arrested without further incident.
Troopers searched her vehicle and found a small amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Dersche was taken to the Gibson County Jail where she is currently being held on bond.
She is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Possession of Meth, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
