Washington High School says they are proud to announce that the annual Christmas Light Show will be held outdoors this year for everyone to enjoy.
The light show began a few years ago in the hallways at WHS but has quickly grown. The Christmas Light Show is a student-led project including students in Computer Science, Industrial Technology, Band, and Choir.
Two of the songs in the show were performed by the WHS Choir and Band students.
Matt Riney’s Computer Science classes are coding Christmas lights in time to music. With the help of sponsors, they purchased software to design the show. Industrial Technology students are building the frames to hold the lights.
“This is a great learning experience for our kids, working with each other, the design aspect, the coding aspect, the continuous innovation and improvement, and the creativity, including art in their learning,” Mr. Riney said.

The City of Washington volunteered to install the lights between Gates 2 & 3 of WHS. The lights are also sponsored by Back Roads Promotions & Apparel and Davis Electric.
You can drive by and check out the light display throughout the week. The synced music can be found by tuning in to channel 90.7 FM.
