An Oakland City woman was arrested last weekend for Driving with a Suspended License.
On Sunday around 4:40 pm, a Gibson County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Gray 2007 Volkswagon beetle for an expired license plate.
Upon stopping the vehicle on South State Road 57, the deputy identified the driver as 31-year-old Chantel Powell of Oakland City. During a roadside investigation, Powell’s Operator’s License was found to be suspended on a prior Driving While Suspended conviction.
Powell was placed into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Driving While Suspended with a Prior.
She has since posted a $650 bond.
