The Daviess County Commissioners heard from the Clerk’s Office on Tuesday.
They approved an Election Security Grant for the Daviess County Clerk’s Office in the amount of $77,432.
The grant will be for the purchase of KNOWink Poll Pads. The three-year agreement will provide Daviess County with over two dozen of these devices to replace paper poll books. The devices will provide poll workers with easier methods of voter identification and verification.
Daviess County Clerk Janice Williams also spoke about county redistricting considering the latest Census Data. She noted Daviess County currently has the lowest population deviation in the state.
The Commissioners are now tasked with the decision to keep voting districts the same or change them in light of the new data.
The board agreed to table the conversation after much discussion.
