The Daviess County Commissioners approved several vouchers as well as a contract for the Daviess County Highway Department on Tuesday. Highway Supervisor Chris Winkler reported the concrete pouring on Cannelburg Road has been pushed back to the spring of 2022. Crews plan to open that road to through traffic soon and temporarily cover the road with gravel. The Commissioners also approved the 2022 Annual Bids for the Highway Department as well as agreed to accept a nearly $1,000,000 Community Crossing Grant for Glendale Road.
In personnel action, the Commissioners accepted the resignation of Airport Manger Eric Seber. The board then approved the Aviation Board’s recommendation to hire Pike County native Chris Rhoads as his replacement. The Commissioners also appointed Rodney Moeller as the new ADA Coordinator for the county.
Lasty, the board approved the 2022 Charitable Donations and the 2022 calendar. No changes were made to the calendar; however, changes were made to the chartable donations due to a $12,900 budget cut. The changes only affected to the Daviess County Historical Society, however, the board members agreed to look at other means of funding to fill the gap.
