WIC to Transition From PACE to IU Health

The Knox and Daviess Counties Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program has announced that it will transition from the Pace Community Action Agency, to Indiana University Health Bloomington (IUHB) effective October 1, 2021.
The WIC program provides nutrition counseling, nutritious foods, and health referrals to pregnant, nursing or postpartum women, infants, and children to age 5.      WIC also provides vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables through the Farmer’s Market Program available June through October. Eligibility is based on income, residence within the state, and health and/or nutrition risk factors.
Dr. Michelle Pitcher, Clinical Services Director stated, “We are dedicated to ensure uninterrupted services will be provided.”

WIC clinics are located in Vincennes (812) 886-0107 and Washington (812) 254-0002.    She also noted that WIC is operating with limited staff; so, if you call the WIC offices and get a voicemail, you are asked leave a message so the office can return your call.
