104-year old Ned B. Kent was presented with the state’s highest honor and was designated as a Sagamore of the Wabash in a special ceremony held at the Legends Village Friday afternoon. Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter, who has met Kent when he accompanied retired State Trooper Gordon Hochmeister to memorial services at the Jasper State Police Post, flew in by helicopter to represent the Governor for the special presentation Friday afternoon. Kent, who is a World War II veteran. He operated a florest shop in Sandborn for several years has lived at the Legends Village in Washington for ten years. A small crowd of family and friends were on hand for the special presentation aired live on Memories 107.9 fm.
